- The Zimbabwe Republic Police offers a wide a range of career opportunities. These careers are put into three main categories which are :-

(a) General Duty
This is the main policing front of the organisation. The responsibilities include, among other things:-
- Suppression of all forms of civil commotion in Zimbabwe
- Preservation of law and order
- Prevention of crime

- Apprehension of offenders
- Protection of life and property
These responsibilities are discharged with the utmost regard for Human Rights.
